A Little Princess

Princess
I love that word. Something about it gives me hope and self worth.
On Friday night, Jake and I watched the movie A Little Princess. I have always loved that movie, but it's been so long since I've watched it that I forgot a lot of things, and when I watched it before I don't think I was old enough to really see the meaning.
Every girl is a princess. Everyone is worth a royal palace of their own.
There is a quote in the movie where Sarah is yelling at the head mistress of the school and she says
"I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny old attics. Even if they dress in rags, even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't your Father ever tell you that? Didn't He?"
My father told me every day that I was a princess. My husband tells me every day that I'm a princess. And I'm here to tell anyone that reads this blog that you are a princess.
We are daughters of a King who loves us and only wants to see us happy and see us believe in ourselves.
I don't like to believe it, but I think a lot of women in this day have lost that belief and have lost that knowledge of where they come from. They don't believe they are a princess so they stop caring about themselves and about how they are treated.
I suppose this was a good weekend to watch a princess movie too, seeing as there was a huge wedding in England. Which brings me to realize that it doesn't matter what country you live in, or how much money you may have, or what your father does for a living because every one of us that is married knows that we had our very own royal wedding.
I'm a princess, and on June 26th 2010 I married my prince. One day we will be known as King and Queen, but for right now we have our King. I married in the most beautiful building in the world. I wore the most beautiful dress to me. I made a promise for eternity.
There is a quote that I absolutely love by President Uchtdorf
"Be strong and of good courage. You are truly royal spirit daughters of Almighty God. You are princesses, destined to become queens. Your own wondrous story has already begun. Your “once upon a time” is now." (Your Happily Ever After, April 2010 Session)
Doesn't that just make you feel special? It does me. It makes me remember that I'm not just a person living on this planet, but I am a daughter of God living here to let others know of his love for them and that they too are daughters and sons of him. He is a King, the Almighty One.
If you don't feel special, you should. You should feel like you are the most beautiful person around, because you are. You are wonderful, and talented. Everyone is.
A Little Princess is one of my favorite movies and it should be watched by every girl in the world so they can remember that it doesn't matter what you look like, what you wear, or how you do your hair, but you are a princess. You are. There is no denying it.

Believe in your own fairytale, and it will come true.
