Fiesta San Antonio Part Uno

Well it's another week here in San Antonio and let's just say that Jake and I are Loving it!
Jake doesn't appreciate the heat as much as I do, and from what I hear is happening in Utah...I'm VERY happy we are here and not there.
(I already have a Tan line :) )

Jake is finally done with Camp Bullis!!!! That means he will be home on the week days from now on and I'll be able to cook him dinner and then send him back to his dorms every night. Better than nothing, right? He had an awesome time at Camp Bullis. It was hard and he had to learn a lot of combat techniques that kicked his butt, but I know he enjoyed it. He didn't do it to me, but he showed me how to take down someone with just a pen! I feel more secure about myself going out in the world now. Ha ha. With all his stories that he told about training I know he is truly enjoying his job and is happy with the choice to join the Air Force.

This last weekend has been probably my favorite since being here in San Antonio, and it's not that we did anything too Special, we just had fun and laughed a lot!

On Friday when Jake got home from work, we had a relaxing night. We had a nice bowl of home made veggie soup, and then we laid down for the movie "When in Rome". I have already seen it, but I knew Jake would like it. I was right too! He laughed his head off. I highly recommend watching that movie, it's so funny!

Saturday came and we woke up early to go do some festivities for Fiesta San Antonio! It's some yearly tradition for the city where a lot of people celebrate San Antonio and it's history! It's 10 days long and there is about 15 different things to do every day!
We decided that we wanted to check out the Indian Pow Wow that was going on, unfortunately our GPS didn't take us to the correct address and we ended up in a very run down neighborhood and at an abandoned house.
So, we changed our minds and went to the next fun thing on our list which was to go to the "Bird Mart" where we saw about 200 different types of birds that were for sale. Jake even asked one of the owners if I could hold one because I've never held a tropical bird, and he wanted me to have the experience. Not going to lie, I was nervous and a little freaked out. I'm a little like my mom when it comes to birds (She cut down a tree in our back yard to get them to go away) so it was very interesting. Well, like Jake thought...I loved it! It was so much fun having the bird climb up my arm. Jake even held it, but he held many birds on his mission so he wasn't nervous or anything at all!

After the "Bird Mart" we headed to downtown San Antonio to an Art Fair. It was right on the river walk, and because of the sunshine we got out of our truck and didn't return for hours. The Art Fair was awesome. It Amazes me how artistic people are. I hope one day to be in an art fair with my photos that everyone can see and buy. When we had seen everything at the art fair we decided to walk to river walk, until we came to a Mexican restaurant called Casa Rio. We have ate there before, and liked it so we decided to eat there again. The service sucked, but the food was great! I love walking on the river walk because it's so relaxing and peaceful and really beautiful. Because my husband loves me so much he took me to the mall after dinner and bought me a shirt and a dress. Like I need any more clothes, but he wouldn't leave the store until I picked something out. :) I love him!

The day was perfect. We ended it by watching a movie and having some ice cream. We laughed so much and played around. I can't wait until next weekend to see what happens.
