Finally some progress is being made with the military and moving to a brand new area.
I don't know about anyone else, but the last time I moved was when I was 5. I can't remember a dang thing. I moved to college, but that isn't the same because I took clothes and a tv and a chair.
I have no idea what it means to move or how to pack. Luckily, we get movers to come in and do all the nasty work for us. Gives me a break from doing it all.
Only problem with having movers move your stuff is the whole process before hand where you set up them coming. Ugh! If Jake had his training anywhere else he would be able to get a Letter saying he could do anything without orders, but because we are here at Lackland and there are SO many trainees, they have to have the orders, and his graduation certificate before they set up the move, then we have to wait 10 business days for them to come and pick up the stuff!
I would be totally chill with this is we were doing RAP (recruiter assistance program). That way we would have 12 free days of him doing RAP, 5 travel days, and 10 days of leave. But nope, we aren't doing RAP because when they were signing up for it, we thought we were going to Montana, and we didn't need it. We need it now!!! So now we only have 10 days leave and 5 days of travel...Including weekends and holidays. With the time the movers are coming and the time Jake has to be there, we have 2 Days to get to Maryland!
MY BEHIND IS GOING TO BE NUMB FROM DRIVING!
Good thing though, today I went to the PPPO office (No idea what it stands for, just know it's where the move gets set up at) and the sweet lady there gave me all the papers I need to set up the move even though she isn't really allowed to. So I have all the papers I need and they are all filled out so now all we have to do is wait until Thursday for Jake for graduate and we get the certificate.
We did get on the waiting list today for housing! YAY! I might just have a home when we get to Maryland after all. Thank goodness.
Things are starting to work themselves out and I am becoming less stressed. Am I still a little stressed? Yeah, I will be until we actually arrive in Maryland and I am sitting on my ugly blue couch in my own home. But until then, the stress is calming down.
Anyone have advice on what to unpack first? This is after all my first place...Even though I've been married almost a year! :)
PS. Jake and I went to Sea World this last weekend and we had a blast! I got a little tan from it, but I'm still working on it. We watched 4 of the shows and went on all the rollar coasters and ate at an amazing restaurant called shamus smokehouse. If you ever come to San Antonio, go to Sea World. It's bigger than the one in San Diego.
Here are some pictures.
