Some of the most beutiful things about marriage.
I love being married to Jake. He makes me so happy, and he makes me feel beautiful when I know I look horrible. It shocks me how much I love him and how I would lay down everything just for him. I don't know if any one else feels this way about their spouse, but holy hannah...it's a great feeling.
I got to see Jake this last weekend for the first time in 8 weeks, and even though it was only for 4 days..it was probably the best weekend of my life aside from my wedding. His whole graduation (except the coin ceremony) got cancelled because them Texas people have no idea how to deal with a cm of snow. Oh well, I got a little more time with Jake because of it.
Here is what happened this last weekend.
We flew in on Wednesday, but I wouldn't be seeing Jake until Thursday. That night my mom, me, my brother, and sister in law went to olive garden, then we went back and celebrated my beautiful neices birthday. Thursday was supposed to consist of a Airmans Run and a Coin Ceremony. Jake called on Wednesday and explained that because of the "cold" weather the Airmans Run had been cancelled (babies). So I wouldn't be seeing Jake until about 10:30. When that time finally came I was so excited. He looked sooo Handsome. When they were released and ran up to the front to accept him and that is when we hugged and kissed for the first time. mmmm It was amazing. We just hung out the rest of the day on the base going to lunch, doing some errands, and then sitting in his truck just talking about what had happened the last 8 weeks. Friday was supposed to consist of his graduation parade, but because of the cm of snow, they cancelled it. So at 1:00 PM I went and picked him up and looked at his dorm (that boy can make a dang good bed!) it was not what I expected for him to stay in, but I guess with the military you should never guess how it's going to go ha ha. That night was the rodeo. It was pretty fun, but really I've been to some rodeos here in Utah, and I think we do it better. Their clown wasn't that funny. Jake had to get back early that night so he couldn't stay for the Toby Kieth concert. It would have been fun to watch him, but I wanted to drive Jake back instead of having someone else do it. On Saturday, Jake had a full day to go to the city and do stuff. We went to the Alamo and the Riverwalk. It was soo much fun! I can't wait until I move there in March to explore that city even more. Sunday we went to breakfast at Dennys then church, and then Jake had to report back to the dorms at 3:30 (LAME). So that was the trip. It was so much fun, such nice weather on Saturday and Sunday I never wanted to leave.
I'm planning on being back in Texas on March 12th. It's going to be great when we can be together for longer than 4 days.
I love my husband and I am so proud of him and all of his accomplishments. While at boot camp he recieved 3 awards. 1: He got the Marksman Award where he shot his M16 and got a great score (47/50 Targets) 2: He got the Thunderbird Award. It's a physical fitness award. 3: His flight got Warrior Flight, because they were the best and did the best. I am so proud of him and I know he is doing great right now in Tech School. :)
With love anything is possible, even being separated and tested. We are a strong couple and can make it through most anything that is put in our way. I'm excited for the future and what it holds for us!
